Times they are a changing.....and so is this page.
Be patient. I'm making some changes that will
reflect this new stage in my life. I want to include you all,
unless you're the kind of person who uses others, manipulates
them, scams them, and then cries "Boohoo, I'm soooo sowwy!"
~if you're one of them, then please, go away somewhere. You're
wasting my oxygen.
Have a nice day!

If only I knew then what I know now......
How many times I've said that to myself? How many times have you said that to yourself? Hindsight is 20/20. Well d'uh! Of course it is! If you could see into the future, don't you think you would skip all those mistakes you've made? Sure, we learn from our mistakes but be honest here, do you really believe that if you knew you would gain 50 pounds, that you wouldn't take steps necess...Read Full Post »

Shoot from the hip......
Planning is a waste of time. From the moment of birth, we start planning. Oh we may not be the ones doing the planning, but someone is doing it for us until the day when we start doing it for ourselves.
It starts with our parents. Some don't believe in God, others, like myself do, but as I will not use this blog to preach, I'll ...Read Full Post »

Well hello there! Bet you thought I had nixed this blog, eh? WRONG! Truth be told, the last few weeks I've been pretty much keeping to myself. Took fewer hours at my job, due to the early warning signs of "burn out". I hadn't realized it has actually been 4 years since I've had any kind of extended break; just national holidays, and those aren't enough sometimes.
But, here I am, saf...Read Full Post »

This cyclist has had enough!
Yeah, you guessed it. Today's entry has to do with all of the bitching that's going on about cyclists. I've - had - enough!
Ok so some punk kid, not giving a damn about others, goes racing on a sidewalk, on his bike, slams into a 63 year old woman, breaks her bones, an...Read Full Post »

Bits and Bites
Still pretty quiet for myself, though I have to admit, I wish I had been on Water Street to see our geyser! Damn that would have been cool if it happened during a nasty heat wave, wouldn't it? I think it's hilarious it happened near the Splash Pad! heeheehee sorry folks, but all I could think was "Now THAT'S a fountain! Beats the hell...Read Full Post »

Cornwall Lift Off? Where?
Well Lift Off is here, and from this woman's point of view, you would never know.
For the past two mornings, I've gone to Lamoureux Park to take some pics of the new balloons lifting off, only to be told "They're doing it in St. Andrews." (As I work evenings, mornings are my only option.) Now I know the weather and...Read Full Post »

Yes kiddies, fruit flies!
I read this article on the Cornwall Daily News .com site and just had to post it:
by Jess Brady
Apparently fruit can be used as a weapon. Cornwall Police say they charged an 83-year-old man yesterday after he allegedly assaulted his 65-year-old wife. Officers allege the ...Read Full Post »

Had enough yet?
All's been quiet all week long! WOW!
Saw a chipmunk. Exciting, eh?
Saw a man with his woman on First E and Marlborough. He had a raccoon on his shoulder.
Thrilling eh?Read Full Post »

"You only hurt the ones you love."
I don't know the origin to this expression, but I understand it's meaning quite well: It refers to the fact that someone who loves you will be more likely to forgive your transactions, so by nature, we are more likely to continuously hurt those we care about.
Many times in the past I've been told that I am a giving pe...Read Full Post »

Happy Canada Day!
Hello all and a very Happy Canada Day to you! Looks like we're in for one gorgeous day! So....anyone want to do my housework and yardwork for me so maybe I can get out there and enjoy it? Hmmm? Didn't think so....

The government is forcing Canada Postal Carriers back to work, problem is, Canada Post doesn't want to comment on when this decision will go into effect. Seems the bill is still before Parliament.
*sigh* I do miss my junk mail; don't you?
Got the trim prepped and painted in that room. Forgot how much dust sanding makes. It was nice having just one task to focus on for on...Read Full Post »

The weekend is upon us and I find myself contemplating two days worth of work around the house. Yippee.
I can remember my mother cleaning every day, with four of us underfoot. She managed to keep everything in it's place and tidy. I have trouble finding my socks!
You can always tell which moms knew what they were doing when raising their kids came into question; ...Read Full Post »

Morning all. It's 631 am, and I'm sitting here munching on a cheese sandwich, trying to stay awake. Been busy, as usual, trying to go through all my rooms for my "junk sale" I want to have this summer, as well as prepping one room for painting. Not much to be done, but all physical labor, like getting on my hands and knees to sand down some floorboards. They're original...Read Full Post »

Happy Father's Day to ALL men. That's right. Just like all women deserve to be wished a Happy Mother's Day, so all men deserve to be wished a Happy Father's Day, regardless of whether you have children (that you know of) or not. Why? Have you ever taught somebody something, like how to fish, how to fix something, how to use some sort of machinery? Have you ever protected somebody, whether the perceived threat was real or not? Have you ever loaned anyone money, even though secre...Read Full Post »

It's been a very quiet few days folks. Seriously, not a lot's been going on; not a lot to notice.
I'm happy to see so many people in my area have put out Canadian flags in one form or other. I must remember to get mine out soon.
Even the news hasn't caught my eye too much. I'm impressed wi...Read Full Post »

Well I hope you've set aside a bit of time. If you're ready, then here we go!
Since Wednesday, things have been a little "wonky". You'll understand soon enough. I finished work on my phone job at about 10 pm. I went outside, set up the complimentaries, and was lucky enough for God to provide all the light I needed; via lightning. Now this spooks me. At night time, it is very difficult to discern where the storm is ...Read Full Post »

Just a quick note for anyone checking for the latest entry; due to very limited free time over the last few days, I've been accumulating entries which will all be included in the entry for Sunday June 12, 2011. I hope to have it done by 12 noon.
So, when you are ready to check it out, make sure your air conditioner is on, the kids are outside playing, the dog has been fed, and your beer/wine/coffee/tea/coke/diet coke/iced...Read Full Post »

A minor correction to yesterday's entry: I should have said "Go Canada Post Employees!"
Started working on more lap blankets. (These are small covers I crochet for people who sit for very long periods of time, i.e. at work or maybe in a wheelchair, who require a little coverage for warmth. I make them just wide enough to not get tangled with...Read Full Post »

Let's start off with a perplexing problem I simply cannot understand: If you are doing something; anything, and you do not wish to be bothered, THEN WHY IN HELL DO YOU ANSWER THE PHONE? Call me crazy, but when I'm busy doing something, I either turn off my phones or simply ignore them. It's much easier than actually yelling at people that I don't want to be bothered. Try it folks. It's more polite as well. (Oh and don't hand me that crap about "expecting an important c...Read Full Post »
